About
Welcome to the vibrant world of Oriental Food Market, your go-to destination for a unique blend of Asian and international culinary delights, conveniently located at 921 S High St, Harrisonburg, VA 22801. As a food reviewer for Foodjoyy, I’m excited to immerse you in the offerings of this charming store that has earned a reputation among locals for its diverse selection and warm atmosphere.
Step inside and find a treasure trove of ingredients tailored for both seasoned chefs and curious foodies. With an impressive variety of rice, particularly their vast selection of jasmine rice, it’s clear that the market is committed to meeting the needs of its customers. As Ryan B. aptly points out, “if you are used to your at-home cooking but can’t find those ingredients in Walmart or Food Lion, this is the place to go.” This sentiment is echoed by many visitors who appreciate the market’s ability to provide essential ingredients for authentic homemade dishes.
While the Oriental Food Market may be compact, the selection is anything but limited. Shannon S. describes it as “great” and “well-stocked,” perfectly reflecting the efficiency of the space and the thoughtful curation of products. The welcoming staff further enhance the shopping experience, making each visit enjoyable, as noted by many patrons.
It's noteworthy to mention that while the store offers an array of international products, some customers have pointed out that the fresh vegetable options could be more extensive. However, the availability of unique items, including refreshments like the intriguing cactus fruit, adds a layer of charm that distinguishes Oriental Food Market from conventional grocery stores. Just a small tip: some refrigeration units may not keep drinks as cold as you’d hope, so be prepared for that.
In summary, if you are seeking a one-stop shop to fill your pantry with Asian staples or simply wish to explore diverse food options, Oriental Food Market stands out as a delightful choice. Whether you’re cooking a traditional family recipe or experimenting with new flavors, this market is sure to inspire your culinary adventures. Your next food journey awaits – just steps away!
“ Always can find the basics for stocking and then there are seasonal gifts and delights that rotate. Never had an issue with the fresh produce. Everything is as expected. ”
“ 3.5 stars It's quite good. Fairly small location across from a Thai restaurant. I came in for Jasmine Rice and they have TONS of rice! They mostly have dried goods, drinks, and sauces. Not much fresh Asian veggies (only a small double fridge in the back for veg.) Minimal grocery items like potatoes, herbs, plaintain, peppers, squash The parking lot seems safe and well-kept! ”
“ Come here because they have the speak all soy sauce I need for fried rice. Definitely have a lot to offer. If you are used to your at home cooking but can't find those ingredients in Walmart or food lion, this is the place to go. Also fresher than Walmart and food lion. ”
“ Half Mex and half Asian, the place is great! Very well stocked and easy to find what you need. Fresh produce abounds and there is a sizable frozen section. ”
“ A very cute Asian/international store that sells a bit of everything. If you're in a pinch and needed something local great place to go to. They even sell cactus fruits!!! Pleasant staff. The refrigerators aren't too cold however so drinks in here are still like warm. Too bad, I was so wanting to get a drink. ”
